Since Korea is a densely populated country, you should expect a fairly small apartment. Most schools offer studios (one room apartment with a separate bathroom), which are very comfortable and have every thing you need to enjoy your time in Korea . Other places may offer you a shared apartment with a private bedroom. If you take a job with a friend or partner, it is possible to get a private apartment.

Your apartment will be furnished with basic necessities, such as:

- a western style bed
- a table and chairs
- a bureau/wardrobe
- a TV and likely a VCR or DVD
- Kitchenette (2 burner range, Refrigerator, Sink)
- Bathroom (shower without curtain, Western style toilet, sink)
-Washing Machine (no dryer since Koreans usually hang their clothes to dry)

* Stoves are very uncommon in Korea , so be prepared for only stove top burners

You will also have plates and cutlery, as well as, basic cooking utensils. All the basic necessities will be provided for you. You may need to purchase additional items to make your life a little more comfortable; however, many teachers (when their contracts finish) may give or sell you these things. My recommendations are to bring a shower curtain and a set of bed sheets since Koreas don't usually use these items and can be quite expensive to buy.

Apartments may not be ultra-modern, but they are comfortable and will be your new home away from home during your year abroad. Get ready to enjoy the heated floors! One of the best inventions, I think!
