There are many different ESL teaching jobs available.
Private language institutes offer jobs teaching a variety of age groups from preschool/kindergarten, elementary/junior high/high school, adults (university students, business people).

Public Schools offer positions in junior/high school.

Universities offer positions in language institutes and university departments.




Benefits
This is an example of standards benefits from most private institutes or "hagwans." . These are the minimal standards that most schools offer to teachers:
Salary/month (minimum) - 1,800,000 Won per month ( MINIMUM )

Tax - 3.5 - 7%

Overtime - approximately CDN 25

Working Hours - 25 - 30 hours/week

Severance - Upon successful completion of your contract you will receive an extra one month salary as a bonus - also called severance pay or bonus and it is a legal responsibility of the employer

Airfare - FREE airfare provided - reimbursed on arrival. Return airfare provided upon completion of your contract.

Housing - FREE furnished apartment -single or shared

Medical - Complete coverage - 50% paid for by employer, 50% paid for by teacher. Amounts to about 4% tax of salary.

Vacation - 10 days paid leave vacation plus national statutory holidays.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in any field (a 4-year degree).

English must be your first language.

You must hold a passport from one of the following countries: Australia , Canada , Ireland , New Zealand , South Africa , the United Kingdom , or the USA .
TESOL/CELTA/TEFL (preferred but not essential)

Masters degree (preferred but not essential except for university positions)

Teaching experience is preferred. If you have teaching experience, you will be offered a better salary and benefits.
